Capturing Video

It's surprisingly hard to find out whether you get the ACTUAL fps that you requested, but this seemed to work in Ubuntu:

  1. Open vlc
  2. From the menu: Media -> Open Capture Device...
  3. Select your "Video device name"
  4. Select "Advanced options..." and enter "Width" 320, "Height" 240, and "Frame rate" 125 and press "Ok"

  5. Click that dropdown next to "Play" and select "Convert"
  6. Enter the output filename and click "Start"

  7. Press stop when you are done, and the file will be saved at the location you specified
